Darndale Arts Collective
Creative Places Darndale established the Darndale Arts Collective in 2022. Since then, it has evolved into a vibrant community hub facilitated by local artist, Immanuel Godson.
About Immanuel Godson
Immanuel Godson, a respected painter of fine art in the local community, has a substantial amount of his artwork showcased at the Darndale Belcamp Village Centre. His preferred medium is classical oil painting, and he often adds a contemporary spin to reproductions of classic masterpieces. As an iconoclastic artist, Godson enjoys playfully challenging established conventions and orthodoxies in modern society.
Since 2022, Immanuel has collaborated with Creative Places Darndale for several events, including the Made in Darndale Festival, Culture Night, and the Darndale Together After Dark Halloween Festival. During these occasions, he facilitated workshops and gave talks to the young people of Sphere17 and students from nearby schools. In September of 2023, he was awarded an arts bursary by Creative Places Darndale to create portraits of Chrissy Ward and her grandson John Connors, which are currently on display at the Darndale Belcamp Village Centre.
