Made in Darndale Festival

The Made in Darndale Summer Festival will be a culmination of six months of work in community engagements, workshops and training.

The skills developed by locals will be showcased and celebrated at four-day carnival-style festival from 16-19 June, animating the area of Darndale and making it a destination for all to visit.

The Made in Darndale carnival-inspired programme

Street and Break Dance Workshop with Don King

Come and join in on this pop up street and break dance workshop with Don King on Tuesday at the Belcamp Courtyard.

Circus Performance with Jitterbug Jackson

Join Hugh Brown as Jitterbug Jackson for a fun-filled performance at the Bell Square! This event is part of the Made in Darndale summer festival.

Darndale Arts Collective Masterclasses

Local artist, Immanuel Godson is hosting a series of free oil painting masterclasses every Saturday from 12-4 pm in the Conference Room at Darndale Belcamp Village Centre.

The Fabulous Mr. H

Enjoy a thrilling Solo Circus Acrobat performance when Mr. H visits selected areas of Darndale to surprise and dazzle with his skills and trickery attempting to turn the world inside out and upside down.

Festival Village: Traveller Arts and Culture

Join us at Darndale Park and explore the rich cultural heritage of the Irish Travelling Community. From tinsmithing and storytelling, to music and folklore, immerse yourself in Traveller culture. This event is part of the Made in Darndale summer festival.

Stilt Walking Workshop

Our Stilt Walking Workshop takes place every Thursday from 3-5pm at Sphere 17 Priorswood. Aimed at 10-13 year olds, this course commences on 28 April and runs until mid-June. Enrolment is on Monday 25 April at Sphere 17 Priorswood from 2.30pm - 5pm.

Preview: The Dare to be Darndale Cabaret

Roll up, roll up! Join us for what is sure to be a spectacular afternoon of performances, including Courtney's Daredevil Circus, in our big top tent at Darndale Park.

Opera in Darndale

Irish Tenor, John Scott will be singing excerpts from well-known operas in various locations around Darndale.

Aerial Cirque

Breathtaking performance by Aerial Cirque  as they dance in the sky, seemingly weightless on a vertical stage.

Live Mural Painting with Klo Wi and Zurdie

Join members of the all-female street art collective, Minaw, as they paint a mural specially commissioned for the Made in Darndale summer festival. Come and see the large scale painting evolve before your eyes - you might even get the chance to make your mark on it too!

The Darndale Dog Show

Calling all dogs of Darndale... it's time to strut your stuff! Join comedian Willie White as he hosts The Darndale Dog Show. Lots of prizes to be won by pooches of all shapes and sizes. This event is part of the Made in Darndale summer festival.

Walk About Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz goes walk-about in Darndale! Come and meet Dorothy, Scarecrow, Lion and the Witch!

Street Art Tour of Dublin City

Creative Places Darndale, Sphere 17 RYS Darndale and Alternative Dublin will take to the streets of the Dublin to explore the work of the city's most talented street artists.

The History of Darndale Walking Tour with Pat Liddy

Have you ever wanted to know more about where you live? Join Pat Liddy for a walking tour through the various locations and landmarks of Darndale and find out lots of interesting stories about your area. This event is part of the Made in Darndale summer festival.

Stilt Walking and Puppetry Shows

Look out for our stylish stilt walker, Hugh Brown, who will show you some of his magic tricks and juggling. Hugh will be accompanied by puppet maker Martin Cahill of No Strings Attached Theatre.

A Snail’s Tale.

DIFF has invited members from Sphere 17 to become shortlisters for the short film category for this year's festival. Young peoople from Bonnybrook and Kilbarrack have been tasked with selecting 8 films for screening on 1 March at St Benedicts Resource Centre in Kilbarrack at 6.30pm. This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome!
